11:00 – “Snug as a Bug - Regal Rugs Reign in Your Retreat” presented by Oscar Tatosian - With over three decades of experience in Chicago, Oscar brings an unparalleled depth and knowledge of high end rugs from all over the world. He will be discussing many types of rug construction, countries of origin and dye methods. He will outline key points of what to look when selecting rugs to complement the décor of your cottage or second home. Predicted to be one of the hottest design trends in 2008, guests are invited to find their own inspiration with Oscar’s regal rugs.
* 12:30 – “Ice Cream Social” by KitchenAid
* 1:00 – “Where The Wild Things Grow…”with Roger Boike - Our very own master gardener, Roger Boike, offers advice on landscaping in Harbor Country. His lecture takes place in our backyard garden and afterwards guests are invited to ask questions relating to their own outdoor oasis.
* 2:00 – “Home Sweet Second Home” – Dennis Rodkin is the real estate columnist for Chicago Magazine and the garden columnist for Chicago Home + Garden. Dennis also pens the blog Deal Estate, keeping Chicagoan up to date with latest deals and steals in the housing market. Rodkin will address the hot trends he sees in the vacation home market.
* 3:00 – “Cottage Couture” presented by Lonnie Unger and Barbara Ince, ASID- Our team of designers will offer advice on how to embrace the panache of retreat living and welcoming it into your home décor. Come with questions and let us help you reinvent your personal sanctuary.
